To be considered for this position, you must complete our online application. Please read the instructions below before you begin.
Before you begin this application, please read the following instructions carefully:
1. Review eligibility and qualifications.
2. Review program areas in Health and Peace and make your selection.
3. Review dates and deadlines.
In order to access the application, you will be asked to create a user account in Embark (if you do not have one already). You will be prompted to enter a user name and password and provide a valid email address.
This will give you the option to save and continue your application at a later date, as well as the ability to check the status of your recommendations after you have submitted your application. Please be aware that once you click submit, you will not be able to make any changes to your application. After submitting your application, make sure you receive a confirmation email verifying that your application has been successfully submitted.
Before you begin, The Carter Center strongly encourages you to review a sample blank application (PDF).
Please be prepared to provide the following required components:
-Contact information
-Two short essays (350 words each)
-A resume (PDF)
-A short, pertinent writing sample, preferably an academic paper five pages or less (PDF)
-Carter Center requires two (2) recommendations. Be prepared to provide the names and email addresses of two references prepared to write letters of recommendation on your behalf. These references will be sent a system-generated email that will allow them to upload a confidential recommendation letter directly to our system. Please ask them to check their spam/junk folder if they have not received the email. Letters of recommendation are due within a week of the application deadline.
-Official transcripts must be mailed in sealed envelopes to the address below and postmarked by the application deadline.
