Carter Center Internships

  • Strong internship candidates are those who have demonstrated superior academic ability and possess academic, professional, or personal experience and interests related to Carter Center programs.

The Carter Center offices in Atlanta will reopen to staff in November. Interns and graduate assistants who wish to do so may also work in-person from the Atlanta offices, contingent upon providing proof of vaccination. However, there will continue to be no expectation that interns or graduate assistants relocate to Atlanta or come in to the office. If you have any questions, we encourage you to reach out to us at

Effective August 2021, the Carter Center internship will be a paid opportunity. This is a 20-hour per week internship for 15 weeks with a stipend of $4,500.

Internships are available through a number of programs and offices within three broad areas of The Carter Center.
